New BMW X3 For Sale in Tuscaloosa

Explore the Standout Small-Luxury SUV - The BMW X3

The X model from BMW is successful. Today, BMW releases one X in every three cars, and the car continues to gain popularity. The first and the second X models were not impressive as per the BMW standards, but the X3 came to offer better features and great drivability.

The car is in competition with some of the most successful cars in the industry. It competes with the Audi Q5 on sleekness, the Jaguar F-Pace for drivability and power, the Mercedes GLC for safety and comfort, and the Porsche Macan for excellence. With such competition, the engineers have put in the work to make the car stellar.

The new BMW X3 is larger and more masculine than previous models. It is also more powerful and free of some oddball designs common in earlier models. Its exterior look features lines that appear to emerge from a viscous skin. There are many more new features to experience with a new BMW.

The car has front-impact, side-impact, overhead, and knee airbags to keep all passengers safe in case of a rollover or collision. To further keep passengers safe, the car has seatbelt pretensioners that tighten seatbelts in case of a collision. Other safety features include:

  • Park distance control

What's in the BMW X3?

The BMW standards are reflected in the X3. The car sports a stylish interior with 10-way adjustable power driver seats. This way, anyone sitting on the front seats will find a comfortable position with ease. Again, the front seatbacks recline to add more comfort for the occupants. The rest of the seats are comfortable and ergonomically designed.

The glossy woodgrain finish adds a touch of finesse on the car while the stitched faux leather dash makes the interior of this car look and feel luxurious.

The infotainment system is standard in all trims and allows a range of features except Android Auto connectivity. However, Apple CarPlay is standard in all the trims. On the dash is a 6.5-inch display on the base trims. Further connectivity comes through Bluetooth and USB Port as standard features. Any other infotainment feature comes as an option in higher trims.

Trim Configurations

BMW X3 is a 5-passenger crossover available in four trims:

  • sDrive30i
  • xDrive30i
  • xDrive30e
  • M40i

The base models, sDrive30i and xDrive30i, are rear-drive and all-wheel drive, respectively. These models run on a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 248 horses with 258 lb-ft of torque. The xDrive30e pairs the above engine with a hybrid engine system that puts out 288 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. The top trim, the M40i, features a 3.0L six-cylinder engine that generates 382 horses and 365 lb-ft of torque. This top trim comes standard with all-wheel-drive as you commute around Fayette, AL.

All the trims feature eight-speed automatic transmission. The 30i and 30e models sport LED foglights and headlights, tri-zone automatic climate control, a power liftgate, simulated leather upholstery, iDrive infotainment system, Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a 12-speaker system. For the 30i and 30e models, you can choose from different package options, including Driving Assistance, Convenience, and Driving Assistant Plus Packages. These packages give extra features. For instance, the Convenience Package adds a panoramic sunroof and keyless access.

If you need a sportier feel and look, you can opt for the Dynamic Handling package that equips the car with upgraded brakes and suspension dampers.

The M40i has all features in the base trims. As additional features, the M40i has a 10.3-inch display, heated front seats, leather upholstery, wireless phone charging, digital gauge cluster display, and a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.

How Does the X3 Stand Up to the Competition?

The X3 is in fierce competition with the Audi Q5. Both are compact SUV cars with powerful engines. X3 has a better gas mileage than the Q5, and it comes in handy if fuel efficiency is your concern. Instead, the Q5 has more luxurious and more tech features than the X3.

Another competitor is the Jaguar F-Pace, which matches the X3's athleticism. The F-Pace offers great drivability and comes with a variety of engine options. It also offers a little more cargo space than the X3, but both cars have sufficient cargo space.

The Acura RDX also competes with the X3. This Acura compact SUV comes with a more powerful base engine than the X3, but it is not a great option if you have fuel efficiency concerns. Inside, the RDX has a longer list of tech, safety, and comfort features. Both SUVs have sufficient cargo space.
